Troy Daniels has agreed to a one-year, $2.1 million deal with the Lakers.
The Lakers are adding a proven shooter around LeBron James and Anthony Davis, which is just crazy enough to work. Jokes aside, Daniels shot .385 from deep on 3.8 attempts per game with the Suns last season and has not shot below 38 percent from 3-point range since the 2015 season — he's been over 40 percent three times. Moreover, this move has no cap impact. Still, Daniels shouldn't be expected to occupy a huge role in the rotation, so this remains more of a depth signing than anything. It's a nice start but the Lakers have a lot more work to do.
