The sign-and-trade deal surrounding Jimmy Butler has been completed, per Adrian Wojnarowski and Zach Lowe of ESPN, with Butler set to join the Heat on a four-year, $142 million contract.
This deal hit a snag yesterday when the Mavs and Heat got crossed up on who they would be exchanging, so the deal had to be re-worked to include the Blazers and Clippers. Butler is going to supply Miami with the sort of shot-creating and swagger that the team so desperately needs and will put them back into playoff contention as the East continues to level out. Interestingly, Butler reportedly turned down a full five-year max offer from Philadelphia in order to head to the Heat.
