The Clippers could be without Luc Mbah a Moute next season, as the wing has chosen to decline his player option and will test unrestricted free agency per ESPN’s Chris Haynes.
Mbah a Moute was set to make $2.3 million in L.A. next season but should easily find more than that on the open market. A team in need of strong perimeter defense will come calling and should be able to give him a raise considering the rising cap. It’s possible that he returns to the Clippers, but they’ve got plenty of their own issues to work through before they consider keeping a complementary player on a roster that’s now full of them. At age 30, Mbah a Moute is likely looking for some longer term and won’t be a fantasy factor regardless of destination.
