The Pistons hosted a workout with Donovan Mitchell today, per Keith Langlois of Pistons.com.
Mitchell has steadily risen up draft boards this summer and is now on the cusp of the top-10 selection. He profiles as a combo guard and has terrific athleticism, coming off a sophomore year at NC State in which he averaged 15.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.1 steals. Mitchell has also worked out with the Knicks, Mavs, Kings and Hornets so it wouldn’t be surprising to see him go in the 8-13 range. If he were to fall to Detroit, he’d be behind Kentavious Caldwell-Pope on the depth chart assuming the Pistons don’t lose him in restricted free agency.
