Louisville’s Donovan Mitchell finally worked out for the Knicks on Wednesday, and he’s on the short list of players the team is considering with the No. 8 pick in tomorrow’s draft per Ian Begley of ESPN.
Mitchell’s workout was supposed to happen yesterday, and even that was a re-schedule from a reported Monday meeting. No matter, as the two sides made it work. The Knicks are also said to be considering Lauri Markkanen and Malik Monk with the eighth pick while Frank Ntilikina remains the favorite to fly off the board when New York selects. Mitchell is projected to be taken around the top-10 and the Hornets (No. 11) are said to be big fans, so it shouldn’t be much of a wait for the combo guard. The Knicks also worked out Villanova’s Josh Hart, Miami’s Davon Reed and Iowa State’s Naz Long. They may be targeting them with picks No. 44 and 58 in the second round.
