In a partial mock draft for NBA.com, David Aldridge wrote that the Hornets were “locked in” on Duke’s Luke Kennard or Louisville’s Donovan Mitchell with the 11th pick in the draft.
The Hornets need some depth in the backcourt in a major way and drafting either player here would be a nice start. Kennard shot .438 from three, a skillset that would be extremely helpful to a squad that has only a few serious deep threats. Mitchell was more of a combo guard in his college career and that could be a nice dynamic to ease some of the ball-handling burden on Kemba Walker. Both are projected to go around the top-10 and pretty much every recent mock draft has Charlotte on the clock with their pick of the duo.
