The Jazz selected North Carolina combo guard Marcus Paige with the No. 55 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.
Paige averaged 31.6 mpg for the Tar Heels last year so he can definitely play, but size and athleticism issues at 6’2/164 are at the forefront of concerns over his ability to play at the NBA level. Thankfully he has a 6’6″ wingspan and he’ll need to build off his solid off-the-dribble shooting game while finding a way to compete on the defensive end. It’s possible the Jazz are looking to deal some of their excess depth on the wing and taking fliers on guys that might be able to fill-in at the end of the bench.
