The Mavs have the ninth pick in the draft and have scheduled a workout with Donovan Mitchell.
Mitchell is projected to land just outside of the top-10, but with his enormous 6’10” wingspan, freakish athleticism and strong ability to play defence, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a team draft him before that. The Mavs could certainly use someone like him, considering their current guards aren’t likely to be part of their current long-term plans. Frank Ntilikina and Dennis Smith Jr. are also possible options for the Mavs with the ninth pick, so it’s only a matter of what they want in a guard. Mitchell would be able to play alongside Seth Curry or Yogi Ferrell and provide some solid defence that should give opposing guards some fits.
