St. Joseph’s small forward DeAndre Bembry was selected with the No. 21 pick in the 2016 draft by the Hawks.
Joseph is a bit more physical and athletic version of the Spurs’ Kyle Anderson. He needs to refine his outside shot and he has been criticized for a lack of urgency, and his defensive game showed holes at times but that might have been because he played 37 minutes per game. He is a very unselfish player and at times he is almost too unselfish, blending in with the action when he should be more assertive. His volume might be lacking and he hit just 65.7 percent of his free throws, but he might do enough of everything to be a factor at some point for a Hawks team losing depth on the wings. If things shake out well for him he might be a factor in deep leagues, but owners shouldn’t be making any preemptive moves or anything like that.
