Aaron Brooks hit 6-of-8 shots (including four threes) for 19 points, four rebounds, seven assists and one block in 24 minutes off the bench on Monday against the Bulls.
Brooks was given the reins late over Jeff Teague (six points, 2-of-8 FGs, two boards, five assists) in a classic hot-hand move by Nate McMillan. That’s not going to be a regular thing and it’s nowhere near safe to add Brooks expecting late-round numbers. It’s possible he steps into the void created by Monta Ellis (groin) and Rodney Stuckey (hamstring), but not yet probable. C.J. Miles ran out of gas with zero points on 0-of-6 shooting and Glenn Robinson had three points, six boards and a triple-one on 1-of-5 shooting.
