Bam Adebayo started for injured Hassan Whiteside (knee) in Friday’s win over the Hornets, scoring one point to go with five rebounds, four steals and two blocks in 18 minutes.
Adebayo did good work against Dwight Howard and the steals and blocks are what you hoped for if you made the add with Whiteside out for two weeks or more. The ultra-efficiency might not be there for him as it would some young interior players but the combination of defensive stats, rebounding and upside make him a must-own player in standard formats, though owners will have to determine if it’s their squad that should be chasing the upside. He could turn into a pumpkin once Whiteside returns.
