Bismack Biyombo started for injured Jonas Valanciunas (hand) and scored four points on 1-of-4 shooting with 11 rebounds, two assists and two blocks over 24 minutes in the Raptors’ 105-91 win over the Celtics.
Biyombo didn’t go bonkers like he did on Thursday but it’s possible that Dwane Casey didn’t want to burn him out on consecutive nights, or more likely, he wanted to get some other guys some minutes while Biyombo wasn’t going bonkers. Valanciunas said his hand is still hurting him so owners will want to consider the possibility of Biyombo having the starting job for next week’s three-game set. Kyle Lowry did not rest and he scored 32 points on 9-of-14 shooting with four rebounds, five assists, five treys, two steals and one block, and DeMar DeRozan scored 15 points with seven rebounds, six assists and one steal in the win. The Raptors are two games behind Cleveland for the No. 1 seed in the East.
