Bobby Portis played 20 minutes off the bench and finished with 17 points, eight boards, one assist and one steal on 7-of-13 shooting from the floor and 3-of-3 from the line in Saturday’s 92-117 loss to the Celtics.
Defying everyone’s expectations, Portis continues to be relevant even with all of the Bulls front court players healthy. He obviously has taken a hit since the return of Nikola Mirotic but he seems to like his sixth-man role and when he gets minutes in the 20s, he produces. That said, he doesn’t consistently get minutes in the 20s so he’s hard to trust outside of deeper leagues.
