Delon Wright took over all the backup duties with Fred VanVleet (wrist) out on Sunday and managed a solid 15 points (6-of-8 shooting), eight assists, two steals and one 3-pointer in 31 minutes of work.
Wright has two solid lines in extended work, the first coming with Kyle Lowry resting and today’s without FVV pushing him for time. It also helped that Lowry was dogged by foul trouble for much of the afternoon. He’s a nice back-end play in 12-team formats with VanVleet being called day-to-day and should be able to carve out value on the back of steals and dimes, with the occasional block or 3-pointer. C.J. Miles also scored 15 off the bench, hitting three triples in his 26 minutes.
