Dwight Powell continued his recent tear in Wednesday’s 111-110 loss to OKC, shooting a sterling 10-of-13 with eight rebounds, three assists and three steals in 37 minutes.
Powell drew the start tonight and has now seen 29-plus minutes in six of the Mavs’ 10 February games. He did go just 1-for-6 from the free throw line tonight but is .726 at the stripe on the year so that’s not a major worry. Powell has worked his way inside the top-150 on the full season and has been a top-60 player over the last month thanks to 8.3 rebounds per game and an astounding .624 shooting percentage. He should’ve been added in all formats long ago but you may still have a chance if the rest of your league is asleep at the wheel. There’s potential for a monstrous finish here if the Mavs decide to shut down some of their older players.
