Emmanuel Mudiay saw 27 minutes off the bench in Wednesday’s loss to the Pelicans, scoring 17 points on 5-of-13 shooting (including three treys) with two rebounds, three assists and one steal.
Mudiay has been in a clear backup role for a while and starter Jamal Murray took a haircut in this one, scoring 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting with four rebounds, two assists, two steals, one block and one three in 23 minutes. Oddly, if Murray had this kind of money counting stat production as a part of his everyday arsenal we’d have been much higher on him, but he doesn’t and he’ll ultimately fail to cash in on his ADP this year. We’re not worried about him losing wholesale playing time nor does Mudiay have any real value.
