Garrett Temple scored 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting (including two threes) with three rebounds, three assists, one steal and two blocks in Friday’s loss to the Grizzlies.
We’ll find out who knows basketball when it comes to defensive awards at the end of the year as Temple has shut down just about every elite scorer he has matched up with. Both he and Ty Lawson (13 points, four rebounds, five assists, one steal) are going to be counted on every night to produce late-round numbers and they’re very strong bets to do exactly that. Lawson’s ankle issue didn’t appear to impact him at all tonight.
Darren Collison (four points, three boards, four assists) is bound to get things figured out but the unfocused and ineffective offensive system currently being employed by Dave Joerger has frazzled him. Hold on and it’ll get better. Matt Barnes speculators are getting slapped with the reality that he has been perhaps the worst player in the NBA to get more than 20 mpg.
