While Julius Randle saw fewer bench minutes than Larry Nance Jr. in Monday’s loss, he was easily the most effective Laker big man with a line of 16 points (7-of-10 shooting), seven rebounds and two assists.
The Lakers insist on starting the husk of Andrew Bogut (useless in 15 minutes) despite the need for another ball-handler with their current set of injuries. Randle is worth adding right now, though he’s far more viable in 8-cat formats. On the whole season he’s a top-125 guy in 8-cat but falls outside the top-150 in 9-cat formats thanks to his 2.2 turnovers per game. That’s not great for a guy averaging just 22.3 minutes but he can definitely pick up counting stats in bunches. For what it’s worth, Nance went for nine points, five boards, one assist and one steal. His stat set provides far more appeal, so both he and Randle are on the pickup radar.
