Justin Anderson started and scored 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting (including a three) with four rebounds, two assists, one steal and two blocks over 24 minutes in Monday’s road win over the Nuggets.
Dwight Powell also got the starting nod and scored 16 points on 8-of-13 shooting with seven rebounds, two steals and one block of his own in 30 minutes. Anderson and Powell could easily get another start against the Knicks and split time covering Carmelo Anthony, and Powell is a good fit covering Kristaps Porzingis, too. That said, Rick Carlisle isn’t messing around right now and he could go away from anybody at any time with the Mavs in must-win mode the rest of the way.
