Marcin Gortat may suddenly be on the short end of a timeshare at center after he logged just 19 minutes in Wednesday’s road loss to the Clippers.
Gortat didn’t make a mark in those minutes either, scoring just six points with four boards, three assists and a steal. In his last four games he’s now played 19, 22, 23 and 18 minutes, and it’s not foul trouble – he’s combined for only four personal fouls over that stretch. Ian Mahinmi played 24 minutes tonight before fouling out, finishing with five points, eight boards and an assist, plus an ugly 1-of-5 mark from the apparently mislabeled charity stripe. His last four games have seen him play 24, 18, nine and 24 minutes. He’s back healthy and looks to be more than capable of crushing Gortat’s value. Owners might want to consider dropping the Polish Hammer if they haven’t already – he’s been well outside the top-200 over the past month.
