Michael Beasley scored 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting (including a three) with nine rebounds, two assists, three steals and one block in 27 minutes off the bench in Monday’s 49-point win over the depleted Grizzlies.
Beasley is actually a top-100 value in his five games with the Rockets, but the numbers are very hard to get behind. He’s averaging just 14.1 mpg but still has managed to put up 10.8 points, 0.2 treys, 4.0 boards, 1.2 steals, 0.6 blocks and averages of 50 percent from the field and a 9-of-9 mark on free throws. He has never averaged those defensive numbers or shot that well in a full-time role so we’re going to need to see him get minutes like this before we recommend an add, and that’s before we mention that tonight’s game was almost entirely garbage time. Beasley momentarily left the game to get five stitches for a cut over his left eye.
