Nikola Mirotic continued his triumphant comeback tour on Wednesday, pacing the Bulls with 29 points on 11-of-19 shooting to go with nine rebounds, two steals and three 3-pointers in a 103-100 victory.
Run, don’t walk, to your waiver wires if Mirotic is somehow still available. He’s been scorching since coming back to the team and the surging Bulls have found a little bit of swagger these days. Niko has always had top-80 upside thanks to his delightful stat set and is trying to lay claim to a starting job that he never really lost. While Lauri Markkanen‘s absence has allowed Mirotic to run wild and he’ll probably return to the bench when the rookie gets healthy, the possibility also exists that Mirotic kicks over to small forward. He’s better than the other options currently there, at least. Regardless, Mirotic has to be owned right now and should be a middle-round value over the course of the season.
