Taj Gibson had his finest game of the season on Wednesday night, shooting 8-of-11 from the field and 8-of-10 from the line to notch an eye-popping 24 points in 40 minutes to go with nine rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block.
The Gibson-Thibodeau (Thibson?) connection is strong here, and Gibson is thriving under his then-ex and now-current coach. He’s locked into big minutes and can capitalize on the lack of attention he’s paid by opposing defenses given his stellar teammates. Gibson isn’t going to have complete lines like this very often but is a safe bet for low-end double-doubles with something near 1.5 defensive stats on a nightly basis. He’s been good for top-75 value so far and has a real shot to finish in the top-100 this season.
