Toney Douglas scored 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting (including three treys) with three rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block in Wednesday’s runaway road win over the Kings.
In a small three-game sample size Douglas is producing mid-round value with averages of 13.0 points, 2.0 treys, 6.0 boards, 6.0 assists, 2.3 steals and 39.4 percent shooting. Zoom that out to two weeks and his 8-cat value barely hangs in the top-150 and he’s well out in 9-cat standard formats, all while playing just 26 mpg. The point is that like Norris Cole he needs big minutes to overcome his various inefficiencies and he could very well get that, but as for right now his production is that of a must-own player. The talent and situation around him are most certainly things that could impact that, but given his upside owners would be wise to pick him up.
