Tyler Johnson emerged from his season-long slumber on Wednesday to shoot 9-of-12 from the field and a perfect 5-of-5 from deep for 25 points against the Spurs.
Johnson has been somewhat lost in the shuffle for Miami so far and has really disappointed fantasy owners looking for a repeat of last year. He’s outside the top-125 to this point and his upside remains more theoretical than actual right now. This was a great first step if he plans on turning things around, and he’s certainly worth picking up if his previous owner gave up the ghost here. Johnson is one of the few players on waivers who can churn out top-100 numbers with regularity, so make sure he’s not free to claim just in case this is the start of a nice run.
