Sam Amick of USA Today reported on Thursday that the Sixers might pursue an offer sheet on restricted free agent Jordan Clarkson.
Clarkson is going to make about $14 million per year over four years when this thing is said and done, and the deal will be back-loaded in a way to try and make the Lakers uncomfortable. It’s not a lot of money for a young player that can get to the rim and do some nice things on offense. Even if the Lakers don’t like his defense or his fit next to D’Angelo Russell and their other ballhandlers, they’ll still probably match because he’ll stand a good chance of being a positive asset that they can use going forward in a trade or as the fallback after a different trade.
