Austin Rivers and the Clippers have agreed to a three-year deal.
Rivers has improved during his time in L.A. and he’ll never get out of the shadow of his dad, but he’ll provide quality backup play for the Clips. Once we see the terms of this deal we’ll be able to weigh in with a grade.
Update: Dan Woike of the OC Register has it as three years and $35 million. That’s a lot of money for a backup combo guard and it has a player option, too. We’re not sure how to justify this one and surely there will be talk about who is cutting the checks over there.
Make that Austin Rivers agreed to resign with Clippers, 2 plus one.
