Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum combined to hit just 12-of-39 shots in the Blazers’ Game 2 loss to the Clippers on Wednesday.
Lillard finished with 17 points, six boards, three assists and one block and McCollum had 16 points with three rebounds, five assists and two threes. The Blazers refuse to split the court in half so their two point guards can switch off one-on-one matchups, running a true point or a flow system for the entire game that yielded bad results.
Mason Plumlee finished with a great line of 17 points, 10 boards, seven assists, two steals, one block and 7-of-9 makes from the foul line, while Al-Farouq Aminu (nine points, 10 boards, three assists, two steals) and Moe Harkless (12 points, seven boards, two threes, one steal) combined to hit just 9-of-26 shots. Either Terry Stotts gets a handle on this or it will be two straight playoff losses in which his strategy has been questionable.
