The Knicks and unrestricted free agent Brandon Jennings agreed on a one-year, $5 million deal on Monday.
Jennings’ durability and health are obviously a prime focus because of the ruptured Achilles’ injury he suffered two seasons ago. He wasn’t good for Orlando when traded there and the market for his services was clearly soft, but it probably shouldn’t have been this soft. As a backup to Derrick Rose, who could easily get hurt on the first day of the season and nobody would be shocked, this contract could look very good in retrospect.
