The Bucks and Hornets have traded Miles Plumlee for Spencer Hawes and Roy Hibbert according to ESPN.
The Hornets get an actual NBA player in Plumlee and get rid of stopgap solutions in Hawes and Hibbert. Plumlee hasn’t done anything in Milwaukee but they’re overstocked with bigs and they don’t have to worry about the viability of Plumlee’s contract anymore. For the Hornets, Plumlee gives them a guy that can eat minutes and provide interior athleticism that Hawes and Hibbert could not provide.
As for the Bucks, they’re not going to factor these players in heavily early on, but if they trade Greg Monroe then they’ll have warm bodies for backups. If the jostling does indicate a move for Monroe, then Thon Maker could see his minutes jump-started a tiny bit. Don’t panic about Monroe as a result of this deal.
