C.J. McCollum scored 27 points on 11-of-23 shooting (including three treys) with eight rebounds, five assists and one steal in Wednesday’s Game 5 loss to the Warriors.
McCollum will want the 2-of-5 mark from the line back when he wakes up tomorrow but he repeatedly answered the call in the belly of Oracle Arena. And while nobody can stop Stephen Curry, his length ended up being the best case scenario for doing the impossible. Damian Lillard carried the team tonight but couldn’t finish in the lane down the stretch, but finishing with 28 points on 7-of-24 shooting (2-of-8 3PTs, 12-of-12 FTs) with seven rebounds, seven assists and two steals they wouldn’t have been close without him. The Blazers had a helluva season and nobody will be sleeping on them next year.
