The Celtics renounced the rights to Jared Sullinger and president of basketball operations Danny Ainge wished him well as he moves on to a new team.
“Jared’s a good kid and I’m grateful for what he gave us and I wish him well,” Ainge told Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe. “I hope he gets a good opportunity. We just feel this is the best thing for our team.” Sullinger hasn’t gotten his diet under control and he has moved further and further away from the hoop offensively, but defenders aren’t necessarily following him all the way out there. The Celtics’ acquisition of Al Horford essentially sealed his fate and now he’ll be a free agent that will generate significant interest. His new team will hope the reality check moves him toward weight loss and that he remembers his post game.
