Dragan Bender hit just 4-of-13 shots in Saturday’s Summer League debut, finishing with 12 points to go with seven rebounds, five fouls and two steals in just under 30 minutes of action.
Bender and Marquese Chriss are going to be coming for Tyson Chandler and Alex Len’s minutes but a lot will come down to how both rookies come along in training camp, and fortunately for Chriss he profiles a lot better next to the other three bigs than they do next to each other.
It’s going to be a bit of a mess. Bender has the higher draft slot and most analysts believed he was the better player between the two, but nothing is set in stone right now and Chriss could easily surge into a larger role if the two are playing at the same level due to the aforementioned fit issues.
