Greece benched Giannis Antetokounmpo for the fourth quarter of Saturday's loss to Team USA in an effort to save him for their next game against the Czech Republic.
Greek coach Thanasis Skourtopoulo consulted with Antetokounmpo prior to making the decision and it was agreed that his efforts would be better served in a game where Greece needs to win by 12 points. The Americans controlled the game and although it was far from a blowout, there was little sense in keeping Giannis in for the final minutes of a game that was basically decided. The important thing to note is that there's no health problems here. Expect Antetokounmpo to be an early first-round pick in upcoming fantasy drafts.
