Cavs general manager David Griffin said that “we intend to keep this group together and see what we’re capable of.”
The elephant in the room is Kevin Love, who along with the Cavs win and his improved performance in Game 7 was able to dodge a terrible summer of bad headlines. He’s still going to be the center of trade speculation and not only will the Cavs field calls for him, but they’ll probably make some calls too. The question will be whether or not the Cavs want to tinker with the formula that won a championship, and the answer to that question will come down to what they could actually get back in a trade. And after Love’s struggles in the playoffs, it might not be enough to move the needle.
