Jeremy Lin agreed to a three-year, $36 million deal with the Nets according to multiple reports.
Lin’s deal has a player option for the third year and this is right in line with what we thought he would get. He doesn’t profile as a starting point guard but his prior time in New York with current Nets coach Kenny Atkinson might change the equation there. Still, he’s not a great bet to play more than 27 mpg and we’ve already seen what he produces numbers-wise in that role. He might see some additional usage playing for a shallow Nets squad, but that might steal from him in other ways like reduced efficiency. Lin will certainly be worth a late-round pick as long as things don’t drastically change for the Nets, and he might have some upside beyond that as well.
