The Chicago Sun-Times reported on Thursday that unrestricted free agent Joakim Noah is “99 percent sure” he’ll join the Knicks.
There has been enough smoke around this story to strongly believe this is going to happen. He’ll have to stay healthy and get his offensive confidence out of the gutter, but he provides an interesting pairing with Latvian Legend Kristaps Porzingis and he’ll get to play with old teammate Derrick Rose. This isn’t going to be a good contract but it’s the best the Knicks can do in free agency and it’s the best that Noah can do, as well. We’ll have to see how Jeff Hornacek and Phil Jackson choose to deploy Noah before giving him anything but a late-round flier grade at this time.
