Kyle Lowry and the Raptors have agreed to a one-year, $31 million contract extension.
Lowry was set to hit free agency after this season but he'll be back with the Raptors for at least another year. Last season's run cemented him as the greatest Raptor of all time so it's not surprising that everyone was on board to extend the relationship. It was expected that this year would serve as a passing of the torch to Fred VanVleet, so we'll have to see how that dynamic changes. VanVleet, who will be a free agent this summer, now has a more difficult path to a starting point guard job in Toronto, though he could very well start next to Lowry at shooting guard.
