Kyrie Irving scored 26 points on 9-of-22 shooting (1-of-2 from deep, 7-of-7 from the line) with two rebounds, six assists and two steals in Monday’s elimination loss to the Warriors.
Irving was the only player next to LeBron that the Warriors truly feared and for moments in this series he made a case for being the most lethal offensive player we’ve seen in Finals history. Unfortunately, his inability to find the right pressure points on offense at times while pursuing wild shots, and the defensive lapses were enough to keep the Cavs from clearing a very high bar against the Warriors. Nuance aside, Kyrie made you believe in magic this series.
