The Lakers have come to an agreement with unrestricted free agent Luol Deng for four years and $72 million.
This comes out of nowhere but on a team with lots of youth it makes sense to add a veteran piece like this. Now what it does for guys like Julius Randle and Brandon Ingram in terms of playing time is a legit question. But on a team climbing from the bottom rungs of the West adding talent is going to be a hard move to question. On the other hand, the length of the contract is going to be a tough sell in Years 3 & 4. The other question might be what the Lakers might do next with one of their younger players in a trade.
