Marquese Chriss hit just 2-of-10 shots for four points, six rebounds and four personal fouls in 29 minutes during his Summer League debut on Saturday.
Chriss got jammed on quite ridiculously by Jake Layman and we’ll have to deal with 24 hours of panic and/or overreaction to one game but that’s what Summer League is all about. He needs to keep his defensive statistics from dipping too badly at the NBA level because he could easily start morphing into stretch four territory which requires ultimate efficiency to keep it from being a negative. Low minute totals are also at play here in Year 1.
