Restricted free agent Allen Crabbe has signed a four-year, $75 million offer sheet from the Nets.
The Blazers have three days to match and the Nets have poisoned the deal a little bit with a four-year player option and a trade kicker. The Nets have also offered him a starting position and all of this comes on the heels of the Blazers signing Festus Ezeli to a (reasonable) deal, with the Blazers leaking to everybody that they’d be able to match on all of their RFAs.
Nets GM Sean Marks obviously sensed some weakness because the offer came hours after that and it’s going to push the Blazers all-in with their bet — do they really want to go this far on a guy that doesn’t want to come off the bench and only has one year of modest production under his belt. Stay tuned.
Mini-Update: The Blazers waived Cliff Alexander to make room for Festus Ezeli.
