The Bulls are trying to shop Rajon Rondo and his $13.4 million team option but is expected to be waived if they can’t find any takers, according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.
Today marks the deadline for that option, so expect some more news in short order. He’s only owed $3 million in guaranteed money so Chicago will probably take that hit. They’d previously stated that they wanted Rondo back but things have changed drastically with Jimmy Butler now out of the picture. That move brought in Kris Dunn, who along with Cameron Payne will be part of Chicago’s future point guard rotation. Rondo wouldn’t have been a priority for the Bulls so it’s no shock to see them moving on.
