Candace Buckner of the Washington Post reports Markieff Morris will undergo surgery for a sports hernia on Friday, which is expected to cause him to miss the start of training camp.
It’s key for the Wizards to get Markieff Morris healthy due to their serious lack of depth. Morris missing the start of camp shouldn’t hinder his ability to contribute to start the season. As long as he stays healthy, Morris is a late-round choice following a 2016-17 season where he averaged 14.0 points and 6.5 rebounds.
