ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne is hearing that Phil Jackson has “dug in” and won’t be dealing Kristaps Porzingis unless a team meets his lofty demands.
A report from Frank Isola had the Knicks asking for Jaylen Brown, Jae Crowder and both future Nets picks in exchange for KP while the Celtics have reportedly countered with tonight’s No. 3 pick, a player (presumably one of Brown or Crowder) and an additional lottery selection for this year. The Knicks can rightfully ask the world for their young star, while others are saying that the Celtics are sitting on that offer and waiting for Jackson to come down from his asking price. We’ll see how this plays out, but rumors of Boston trying to pry pick No. 7 out of Minnesota certainly imply that they believe their proposal will eventually be good enough.
