The Rockets are preparing to add some high salary players this summer and are willing to move Patrick Beverley, Ryan Anderson and Lou Williams to make it happen, according to ESPN’s Marc Stein.
News that the Rockets were shopping Beverley came out last night but this is the first report including any other names. Houston has big goals for the offseason, with reports indicating that they’re after Paul George in trade talks while they also pursue Blake Griffin, Paul Millsap, Chris Paul and Kyle Lowry in free agency. The two point guards are a bit of a surprise considering the Rockets basically give James Harden all the touches he can handle but it’d certainly make them an even more dynamic offensive group. Beverley and Williams are on expiring deals that are well below current market value so there shouldn’t be any problems drumming up trade interest there. Expect Houston to try and make a splash.
