Jonathan Feigen reported on Thursday that the Rockets have renounced their rights to Donatas Motiejunas.
This is one of the more interesting players of the last few years if you’re into the CBA, failed physicals and a whole lot of ‘he said, she said’ about the player’s health. What will be even more interesting to see is if the Nets want to pay him as much as they offered before the Rockets matched, as Motie is now an unrestricted free agent. If they don’t, it’ll be a sign that new GM Sean Marks was doing Motie’s agent a favor and who is going to bid on this guy. Can he play? There’s not enough here for a speculative add in most reasonably sized formats.
Sources: After releasing rights to Donatas Motiejunas, Rockets plan to re-sign guard Bobby Brown. Houston renounced Motiejunas' 4-year deal.

Update: Apparently our (Bruski’s) cynical Nets take holds no water. And we’re not going to pretend like we know why.

Update II: Who knows.
Gathering more info, but as of now, Donatas Motiejunas can't sign with the Nets, I'm told. That could also change as NBA reviews situation.
