According to a report from Jabari Young of the San Antonio Express-News, the Spurs might be willing to trade Danny Green this summer.
It’s an interesting report that comes on the heels of Pau Gasol’s decision yesterday and seems to paint the Spurs as willing to cut salary. That could be for a run at Chris Paul or Kyle Lowry (though it’s been said they’re not high on him), though they would need to continue clearing space to make either one feasible. It may also be so they can try and retain Jonathon Simmons, who had a breakout postseason and should be fielding offers from all over the league. Patty Mills, David Lee, Dewayne Dedmon and Manu Ginobili are also in need of new deals so the Spurs might be rearranging the furniture on their cap sheet and spreading the Green savings across multiple signees. Green isn’t the most glamorous player around but plays a serviceable role on just about any roster imaginable.
