Restricted free agent Tyler Johnson met with the Rockets on Friday according to the Miami Herald.
Johnson is a pretty good fit anywhere, really, but for a fast tempo team that can utilize his athleticism they make sense. They need good depth behind James Harden and an injury prone Patrick Beverley, and Johnson is also the type of guard that can play off the ball (and without the ball) next to Harden. We have Johnson as our No. 14 shooting guard prospect in a deep low-end tier of players, and we were projecting three years averaging $8 million. It’s possible he gets more since it appears NBA teams haven’t forgotten about him.
Tyler Johnson will return Sunday to work out in Miami, with an associate saying Johnson's goal remains to remain with the Heat.
