The Wizards are reportedly interested in unrestricted free agent Ryan Anderson.
The report throws out a number of $17 million for his services and that sounds like the lower end of the likely overpay for Anderson, who can hit threes and do a small amount of things in the mid-post and post areas but that’s about it. He hasn’t rebounded well and he cannot defend, getting benched for a shallow Pelicans squad quite frequently. His durability is also an issue as he has missed a total of 97 games over the last three seasons to neck, back, knee and groin injuries. It’s unclear why the Wizards would be interested in paying Anderson after they just spent a first round pick to get Markieff Morris, making this a bit of a suspect report.
